Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
Preparing Bills of Quantities at various stages for multiple purposes, such as:
Collaborating with the design team to prepare BOQs at each design stage (Concept Design, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, Issued for Construction).
Utilizing BOQs as tender documents and for calculating the engineer's estimates.
Tendering
Preparing tender documents for design and tendering projects. Managing the tendering phase, including responding to contractor queries and preparing tender evaluation reports.
Estimation
Creating detailed estimates for "Engineer’s Estimates." Preparing elemental estimates in the early stages of design to provide clients with brief cost projections.
Site Visits
Conducting regular site visits to monitor the progress of supervised projects and as required for projects under bidding.
Selection of Responsibilities, as a Main Contractor
Taking-Off
Performing quantity take-offs, preparing measurement sheets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs), particularly for pricing tenders when the client does not provide a BOQ with the tender documents.
Interim Payment
Preparing interim payment applications for ongoing projects and submitting them to the client. Evaluating subcontractors' interim payment applications.
Primavera
Developing project schedules primarily using Primavera software.
Tender Submission
Actively involved in the tender submission process alongside the QS team,
including:
Cross-checking BOQs provided with tender documents.
Pricing and preparing all necessary documentation for submission.
Site Visit
Conducting site visits for various purposes, including:
Tender pricing.
Monitoring project progress.
Evaluating subcontractors' payment claims.
Variation Orders
Preparing variation orders and coordinating with consultants to secure approval.
